Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has revealed he was close to making a switch to Old Trafford in 2015 before signing a new five-year contract.
Speaking ahead of Super Cup final showdown with Manchester United on Tuesday, the Spaniard said as the Daily Mail reported: 'There was an opportunity in the past. It resolved itself in a different way. I'm grateful to United for the interest. It's a great club and I wish them all the best.'
Ramos has since gone on to win three Champions League titles, two of them under current boss Zinedine Zidane.
