Everton boss Roberto Martinez said Stoke City can beat anyone on their day.
The Toffees’ boss comments came after Mark Hughes’ side – who ran riot over Manchester City few weeks ago, defeated Manchester United 2-0 at the Britannia on Boxing day.
However, speaking ahead of Everton’s clash with Stoke at Goodison Park on Monday, Martinez reflected on the Potters and spoke of when they met in Singapore in the Barclays Asia Trophy tournament back in July.
“With Stoke, we had a previous encounter with the tournament in Singapore, and since then they have added one or two players,” assesses Martinez, Everton's official website reports.
“It will be good to see what level they are now. They have already shown that on their day they can beat anyone. Stoke were very impressive against Manchester City not so long ago.
“They are a team that have some very important players with a lot of flair and creativity. We know how tough they can be. We faced them last season in a really competitive game and I expect exactly the same.”
