Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers deserves credit for his side's recent performance says John Aldridge.
Liverpool have won their last two Premier League clashes against Burnley on Boxing Day and Swansea City on Monday which they won 1-0 and 4-1 respectively.
However, Liverpool legend Aldridge reckons the Irishman's decision to change his tactics was spot on with Raheem Sterling as a lone striker upfront.
“There has been a lot of criticism directed at Liverpool recently and some of it has been justified,” Aldridge told Liverpool Echo.
“But now is the time to give Brendan Rodgers some credit.
“It has taken the manager some time to find a solution and one or two things have not paid off.
“After playing defensively and looking to nick games, Rodgers went back to his old philosophies but changed the structure and formation – and now he is reaping the dividends.
“It was a big shout from Rodgers going 3-4-2-1 but it has got Liverpool playing something like the type of football they played last year.”
