Ronaldo: Fergie told me I’m the best.

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he still thinks about Manchester United and misses Sir Alex Ferguson.

The 3 time Ballon D’or winner left Old Trafford to join Real Madrid in a then-world record deal in the summer of 2009. Despite signing a contract extension only last summer, Ronaldo has continuously been linked with a move back to United.

Speaking to reporters in Zurich after picking up his latest World Player of the Year award, he said: “I think about Manchester United. The beginning of my career was there, that’s where I started. I know the fans are there supporting me.”

Ronaldo enjoyed a close relationship with Sir Alex during his time at United and has revealed that he is still in touch with his former boss.

“I haven’t had a message from Sir Alex yet but I speak with him often,” he added.

“He told me to keep improving all the time. He said: ‘Cristiano, you’re the best, don’t worry about the rest’.”

“He’s fantastic, I miss him.”
