Roy Keane: Beating Man City can only give Man Utd players confidence.

Man Utd great trolled Tottenham after Manchester derby.

Roy Keane says Manchester United's win over Jose Mourinho's Lilywhtes "wasn't a big deal" because "we know their mentality".

The Red Devils secured two wins on the trot against Spurs during midweek and Manchester City on Saturday as they moved to fifth spot in the Premier League table.

However, former United captain Keane is convinced the 2-1 win over Pep Guardiola's Citizens yesterday is much of a big deal than beating Spurs.

"I said before the show, I don't think beating Tottenham at home was a big deal. Spurs, we know their mentality," Keane told Sky Sports.

"But beating Man City can only give the players confidence. The players have been criticised a lot and today we need to take our hats off. They were outstanding.

"It was a Manchester United performance. The way they managed the game, the blocks, it was brilliant. For me that's what Manchester United is all about.

"But they have to do is consistently and they do need a helping hand and hopefully they get that."
