Samir Nasri is not expecting Chelsea to slip up in the race for the Premier League title.

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has told his team-mates that they need to up their game if they are to have any hope of retaining the Premier League title, as he thinks Chelsea won’t blow their lead in the latter stages of the campaign, as Liverpool did last season.

The Citizens only recorded their second win in 2015 in the Premier League after they beat Stoke City 4-1 at the Britannia Stadium and are seven points behind Chelsea in the league table.

However, French international Nasri warns Pellegrini's squad of the threat Chelsea possess if they do not get back to winning ways.

“We have to wake up and do the job now before it’s too late," Nasri is quoted as saying by the Daily Star. “Chelsea, with no disrespect, are not Liverpool – who can drop points. They are really solid.

“We have to catch them as soon as possible if we want to be champions.

“But at the same time we have to look behind us. Southampton have won, United are getting close. We’ll see.”
