Arsenal's midfield maestro Santi Cazorla talks up the secret to the Gunners' success after they thumped Liverpool 4-1 at the Emirates and the former Villareal man says it’s a boost for their next tie against Burley.
Hector Bellerin broke the deadlock on Saturday afternoon with a fine finish, when his left foot placed the ball into the corner of the net in the 37th minute, Mezut Ozil increased the deficit three minutes later with his sublime free-kick and Alexis Sanchez then went on to make it 3-0 at the brink of halt-time.
In the second half, Liverpool responded in the 76th minute through Jordan Henderson, when the former Sunderland midfielder converted his penalty. But the Reds went down to 10 men after Emre Can got a second yellow card with six minutes to go.
Olivier Giroud fired home in the dying minute, making it a day to forget for the Anfield boss, as Arsenal made it seven wins in seven league matches.
“It’s a very important win for us because Liverpool are with us fighting for the Champions League,” Cazorla told Arsenal Player, Arsenal.com quoted.
“Liverpool have very good players with Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho but the team played very compact and played together, which is very important for us. When we defend together, we always win.”
“The confidence is high for everyone and we need to play the same now we have a week of rest, and then we need to prepare for the next game,” the 30-year-old added.
