The Blues' midfield man Andre Schurrle is edging closer to the exit doors at Stamford Bridge after the World Cup winner was left out of the Chelsea squad to face Bradford City on Saturday.
Although Mourinho said the German midfielder would play in the FA Cup fourth round clash against Bradford City but Schurrle was nowhere to be found.
The German has been heavily linked with a return move to Germany in recent weeks with Wolfsburg keen to seal the deal.
According sources Chelsea are hoping to receive £27m for the former Leverkusen midfielder but the west London side are not in a hurry to deal.
The Portuguese manager said: 'The principle is that we would like him to stay.
'The question is not to be allowed or not allowed. The question is not to have a good offer.
'The question is to have a phenomenal offer and a player to be super keen to accept a new challenge in his career because we don't want to sell our players.'
According to the Daily Mail, Wolfsburg are set to bring the Midfielder back to the Bundesliga where he started his career with a promise of starting regularly and Schurrle has given senior players the impression he is set to move away from Stamford Bridge, which could see the Blues secure a move for Cuadrado.
