The Euro 2016 hosts France beat Germany to reach the finals and following the win England great Alan Shearer heaped praise on Didier Deschamps. Les Bleus beat the World Cup winners 2-0 in Marseille thanks to Antoine Griezmann's brace. Germany were impressive for long spells of the first half but in the second half they just couldn't trouble the French defence and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris enough, as Deschamps' side cemented their spot in the final of the tournament. "It was a good game. France did what they had to do," Shearer told BBC Sport. "They were under severe pressure in the first half and stood firm. They were the better team with the star man up front. Antoine Griezmann delivered when he had to.
"Whatever decision Didier Deschamps has made in this tournament has worked. He had Paul Pogba and Griezmann on the bench one game, brought Kingsley Coman on at half-time, started with N'Golo Kante on the bench today. And they've all worked."
