Manchester City attacking midfielder David Silva is hoping that the Citizens defeat Southampton when the two sides clash this weekend.
The Spaniard is close to returning from injury after being out of action since the start of October.
Manuel Pellegrini's side will be looking to come back to winning ways with their last win coming in early November against Sevilla in the Champions League.
"When the team is in a bad run the next game is difficult because you need to react, get some confidence and get back to winning ways," he said.
"So we hope we can do it against Southampton and after that, we have another game at home to Hull and the chance to advance to the League Cup semi-finals, so we are looking forward to changing the dynamic of the last three games and turn it to positive.
"Southampton are a good side and it will be difficult - will they play a high press? I don't know, but you need to play in one way in some games and sometimes in another.
"Our style is to have the ball, to have the possession and create chances. We should play like that against every rival, regardless of whether they press us high or they withdraw to just defend.
"I think that our style should not change a lot, however, because it is what is most effective for us."
