Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has confirmed he will be staying with Rojiblancos, quashing rumours linking him with other sides across Europe.
The Argentine, who has four years left on his current deal with the Spanish club, said after the Champions League final loss on penalties to Real Madrid that he needed time to think about his future with the side.
However, Simeone has now confirmed he is keen on improving his team at the Vicente Calderón.
"I spoke in the heat of the moment," said Simeone, who has been at Atletico since 2011, as Reuters reported. "We Argentinians are like that. Others are not at fault for beating you, I learned that a long time ago.
"To remember the pain and the suffering is necessary to better yourself."
