Diego Simeone will not stand in Atoine Griezmann's way if the the France international decides to leave Atletico Madrid.
The attacking midfield ace has been linked with various top sides across Europe including Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
However, Simeone says he won't force the 26-year-old to stay with Rojiblancos.
When asked if Griezmann could leave when the transfer window re-opens, he told AS: "Yes, because there is a release clause and there are no guarantees. From here on in, I don't know what can happen.
"Griezmann would never allow me to demand of him to stay," he said. "I didn't do it with [Diego] Costa and with [Radamel] Falcao.
"The players that have given me their lives, I obviously accompany them in the decisions that they take. What is clear is that as long as [Griezmann] stays, the team and the club will continue to grow."
