Danish centre-half Simon Kjaer says he turned down a move to Liverpool because he 'wants to win trophies.'
The Lille defender has diverted his attention to the Turkish league, with Fenerbache being his preferred destination.
The 26-year-old's family are all Liverpool supporters, but he has singled out a reason for his decision not to play for Brendan Rodgers.
"It's not a secret that my family are Liverpool fans, and a move to Liverpool would make my family happy," said the Dane.
"Liverpool wanted me, but I want championships, I want to win trophies. Fenerbahce's goals this season are big, and it was explained to me very well."
