Tottenham Manager Jose Mourinho won’t swap Lo Celso for any player including Bruno Fernandes.

Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho says he would not swap Giovani Lo Celso for midfielder Bruno Fernandes who is currently plying his trade at Old Trafford.

Spurs missed out on signing the in-form Portugal midfielder Fernandes last summer after opening talks with Sporting Lisbon over a deal.

It is believed Fernandes agreed terms with Spurs but nothing materialised and the north London club eventually signed Lo Celso on loan from Real Betis under Mauricio Pochettino’s reign.

Lo Celso later signed a permanent contract in January after Mourinho was named as Pochettino’s successor while Fernandes joined United for a reported fee of £68m.

When quizzed whether he regrets Tottenham missing out on signing his compatriot Fernandes last year, Mourinho told Sky Sports News: "I don't know anything about that, but if that is true, and if Giovani Lo Celso was the player that came to Spurs [instead of Bruno Fernandes], then I would say I wouldn't change Giovani Lo Celso for any player.

"[I wouldn't swap Lo Celso] for any player. It's not just for Bruno, but for any player."
