Stoke striker Jonathan Walters jokes that he wants new £120,000-a-week contract after reading Sports
Jonathan Walters is demanding a bumper new contract from Stoke City - after Sportsmail revealed he has scored more goals than Raheem Sterling this season.
The Republic of Ireland forward has netted seven times for his club, and after reading that Sterling has turned down £100,000-a-week at Liverpool, seems to think he too is worth a bit more.
Walters tweeted Sportsmail's article from Wednesday night, along with a picture of him knocking on manager Mark Hughes' door.
The forward included the tongue-in-cheek message: 'Not happy with this.....! I'm going in. I want at least 120k'
The Stoke man has actually played a game fewer than Sterling this season, with four of his appearances coming from the bench compared to Sterling's one.
However, when the two met earlier this season it was England's winger who came out on top, although neither man scored in Liverpool's 1-0 win over Stoke at Anfield.
