Suarez lauds Valverde after Barcelona sack the under-pressure boss.

The Blaugrana cut ties with Valverde and his coaching staff on Monday.

Luis Suarez's message to Ernesto Valverde: "Thank you very much mister for all the moments we live as professionals."

The Blaugrana sacked Valverde and his coaching staff on Monday and replaced him with former Real Betis coach Quique Setien.

Rumours had it that former midfielder Xavi was going to take over at the Camp Nou helm but a few tabloids reported yesterday that the boss of Qatari club Al Sadd turned down the opportunity to manage his former side at this stage of the 2019-20 campaign.

Barca's 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana semi-finals on Thursday was a major reason as to why Valverde was sacked, however, Suarez, who recently underwent surgery on a knee injury, thanked the 55-year-old for his work ethic at the Camp Nou, were he won two consecutive LaLiga titles.

"Thank you very much mister for all the moments we live as professionals," Suarez tweeted.

"Keep the positive things you taught me and the great human being you are. Thanks to you and all your staff for the professionalism. I wish you good luck in everything that comes for the future!"
