Swansea City boss Garry Monk has quashed rumours linking the club's summer signing Andre Ayew with Liverpool.
Ayew, who has had a bright start in the Premier League, sealed a move from Ligue 1 side Marseille to the Welsh club in the summer. He obviously hasn't spent half a season at the Liberty Stadium, but widespread reports suggest Liverpool's boss Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t mind the Ghana international moving to Anfield.
However, Monk, whose side face Stoke City tonight, wasn't bothered about the rumour.
“The speculation starts earlier and earlier every year, but I don’t think about it. There is no point in me focusing on things like that, things are not reality. The things I need to concentrate on are the things in front of me that are reality,” said Monk as Skysports.com quoted.
“Until anyone comes to me and says anything concrete it is not worth thinking about. It is part of the game, players get linked everywhere, every year.
"That is part of the job and I never focus on that. It is not my concern if he is a Liverpool fan or not. I could say there are 1,000 players I admire in the game, but is there any point in that?”
A few tabloids also say Ayew is a life-long Liverpool fan.
