James McCarthy is looking to leave Everton with Tottenham among the clubs keen to sign him up, report the Daily Mirror.

The Everton midfielder is reportedly seeking a move after becoming really unsettled at the club in recent weeks, as he believes the Merseyside club don’t value him enough.

McCarthy is one of the lowest-paid at Goodison Park, on a £35,000-a-week contract and feels the Toffees haven’t kept their promise to honour him with a better deal than the one he agreed when joining from Wigan.

The news puts Pochettino's club Tottenham on red alert and the Ireland international is said to be shocked their new signing Tom Cleverly has a deal worth twice his weekly wages.
