Diego Simeone praised Atletico striker Fernando Torres and says the 30-year-old has returned a man.
The Spaniard left Atletico Madrid for Liverpool back in 2007 and made a return earlier this month.
Torres' first goals for Simeone's side since his return came at the Bernabeu on Thursday, in a 2-2 draw with Los Blancos, which helped knock-out Ancelotti's side from the Copa del Rey and secured a place for Atletico Madrid in the quarter-final of the competition.
"He left, matured and is now a man," said Simeone.
"I am very pleased for him. The fans are happy and his arrival has been good for us even though some had their doubts."
The goals were Torres' first at the Bernabeu and the striker was delighted to help his side qualify for the Copa del Rey quarter-final.
"It's been a beautiful day. A day to enjoy," Torres said.
"I'm happy for the people who came, to score my first two goals in this homecoming and in a stadium in which I hadn't scored yet."
