Belgium international expects contract extension.
Vertonghen's current contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
Jan Vertonghen has revealed he will be extending his contract at Tottenham by a year.
The Belgian, who has been impressive for Mauricio Pochettino’s side since joining from Ajax in the summer of 2012, might sign a deal keeping him at the north London club until 2020.
"My contract is expiring at the end of the season, but Tottenham have an option to extend it with one year," he told Belgian media as skysports.com quoted. "I think they will take up the option. We'll see what happens."
The centre-back has made 250 appearances in all competitions for Spurs and he also helped Belgium to the semi-final of the Russia 2018 World Cup this summer.
