Paul Merson’s north London derby prediction.
Arsenal legend Paul Merson has given his thought on the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Tottenham, saying he doesn’t see either side keeping a clean sheet in the north London derby.
Arsene Wenger and his team head to White Hart Lane this weekend hoping to maintain their good form with an away win against arch rivals Tottenham.
The Gunners have won five in five in all competitions, beating Hull City, Stoke , Manchester City [at the Etihad], Brighton [in the FA Cup fourth round] and Aston Villa - who they beat 5-0 last weekend at the Emirates.
As for Pochettino's side, they have secured three wins in their last five games, with Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane in good form as they keep scoring vital goals for the Lilywhites, we're definitely in for an intriguing tie on Saturday afternoon.
And, former England international Merson reckons there will be goals from both sides and predicted a 2-2 draw.
"It'll be a shoot-out. I can't see any of the defences keeping the forwards quiet," Merson told Sky Sports.
"It's a big game, they're always big, but this year Spurs could go above Arsenal. That doesn't happen too often."
The football pundit also spoke about Alexis Sanchez who will be missing the clash and thinks Arsenal can perform without their talisman.
"Arsenal will miss Alexis Sanchez because he's top drawer, "he said. “But they got by without him last week. I don't think Tottenham could do without Harry Kane, but Arsenal could live without Sanchez.
"Signing Kane up was a huge deal for Tottenham - one of the best of the window."
