Victor Valdes has been given a chance to train with the Red Devils as the former Barcelona goalkeeper works on his fitness.
The 32-year-old Spaniard became a free agent after departing from Barcelona in the summer.
And, Manchester United have offered Valdes a platform to work on his fitness, as he continues his rehabilitation after being sidelined from the pitch due to a knee injury.
Manchester United released a statement saying: “Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has offered the 32-year-old former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes a chance to complete his rehabilitation from a knee injury and to work his way back to fitness with the club.
“Valdes, a free agent, will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team, as he bids to regain full fitness.”
This comes as a surprise to me as Valdes has been linked with a move to Liverpool all along and it has not been confirmed if he will be offered a contract.
