Valencia reject £27m bid for Otamendi from “unknown club”

According to Sky Sports, Valencia have confirmed that they have rejected a bid of nearly £27 million (€35 million) for Nicolas Otamendi from an unknown club.

According to prominent Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, that club could be Manchester United as Louis van Gaal is rumoured to be targeting a defender for the winter transfer window with Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels also on his radar.

This piece of news is being strongly denied by sources inside Old Trafford and the Spanish club have also insisted that the defender will not be going anywhere during the January transfer window.

Otamendi signed for Valencia from Porto in January last year who immediately loaned him off to Atletico Minero in Brazil. The Argentine has been in superb form this season, which includes scoring the winner in a 2-1 win over Real Madrid, leading to interest from all around Europe with a big money bid already rejected from the Spanish club.
