Norwich 1-0 Man Utd.
Man Utd boss says his team can manage injuries.
Van Gaal delighted with United win.
The Red Devils sealed a 1-0 win over the Canaries on Saturday afternoon to increase their chances of sealing a Champions League position.
Both sides went into this game with the hosts hoping to win three points to remain in the Premier League, while Louis van Gaal's men were looking to do the same in their quest for a top four finish. Ahead of the game, Anthony Martial came out for the warm up but walked back down the tunnel moments later as Ander Herrera replaced the Frenchman in United's starting line-up. Juan Mata slotted home the only goal in the game in the 72nd minute after a mistake by Sebastien Bassong allowed Wayne Rooney to run clear and find the Spanish midfield maestro - who calmly finished off with his favourite left foot.
However, following the triumph BBC Sport quoted Van Gaal saying: "I said to the boys, we have to win, there is no excuse. We have won and it was more than deserved. We keep the pressure on our competitors and I am a happy manager.
"They were also fighting and pressing and it makes it difficult. The second half we did much better because we kept the ball and had more than one chance.
"We have seen this team can manage injuries. Away games are difficult for us and we changed the results by winning here. I hope we can see something between Man City and Arsenal that helps us."
The win moves United to within one point of rivals Manchester City, who sit in fourth spot.
Juan Mata has scored more Premier League goals against Norwich City than any other opponent (five).
Wayne Rooney is now joint-third for assists in Premier League history (95, level with Cesc Fabregas).
