Van Gaal is determined that his side claim three points over Swansea on Sunday.

Louis van Gaal is looking to avenge his debut defeat by beating Swansea in his 50th game as Manchester United boss.

The Dutchman's side were beaten 2-1 by the Swans at Old Trafford on the opening day of the 2014-15 season, with the Welsh club doing a double over the Red Devils at the Liberty Stadium.

However, the Reds manager is hoping they seal a win over Garry Monk's side on Sunday.

“The first match that I had was against Swansea, we lost, and now I have to play the 50th match against them,” said van Gaal, as the Daily Mirror quoted.

“I hope I can show our fans we have improved because that is the main thing.

“Last year we only lost all the points against Swansea and I want always improvement of my team and players, so I hope we can show that.

“I think the first match last year we were not well prepared because of the US tour, and I have explained that more than 20 times already.

“The second game against Swansea it was a very unlucky game for us, as then we were prepared.

“But I think Swansea has a very good team this season and last season, and they have proved it.

“They got a draw at Chelsea, they beat Newcastle, so when I look at their players they have individual quality, so it will be difficult to beat them.

“We already had a meeting about Swansea, we had a training session in relation to Swansea, and now Swansea is the only important thing. That is the life of a player and a manager, you have to do that.”

United are in for a tough game I suppose with Bafétimbi Gomis scoring in the opening three league matches and Jefferson Montero crafting on the left wing, I believe Louis van Gaal has a plan to nullify their attacking threat but what happens in midfield could decide the clash.
