Van Persie explains Man Utd late goal equaliser against Chelsea.

Robin van Persie explained why he took of his shirt while celebrating the goal that sealed a point for Manchester United.

The Dutchman fired home a leveller in the last minute of stoppage-time to secure a point for Louis van Gaal's side after Didier Drogba found the net in the 53rd minute at Old Trafford.

Van Persie's celebration was labelled “stupid” by his boss Van Gaal after the 31-year-old striker picked up a yellow card for his goal celebration.

However, Van Persie explained he knows the rules but was excited about the late equaliser.

“I know it’s one of the rules that you have to keep your shirt on but sometimes you forget and everything comes together and the whole place explodes,” Van Persie said .

“It was one of those fantastic moments and the main thing is that we got something out of this game because we deserved it.”
