Henry is being tipped to take over from Poyet at Bordeaux
Patrick Vieira has given his backing to Thierry Henry, saying the 41-year-old will be a "very good" appointment for Bordeaux.
According to widespread reports, the former Arsenal forward has held talks with the Ligue 1 club over their vacant managerial role after they suspended Gus Poyet last week.
"It would be very good for Bordeaux," Vieira, the current manager of Nice, said of Henry.
"It would be very good for him. It would be very good for Ligue 1 because of his notoriety. I know he's someone who really wants to be a coach and he has the means to succeed.
"He has had a lot of experiences. I think it would be a great thing for football because he has a lot to contribute and a lot to give."
The former France international left his role as a Sky Sports pundit this summer in order to focus on a new career.
