Florin Gardos admits he won’t be forgetting the win over Manchester United anytime soon.
The Saints saw out a 1-0 win over Louis van Gaal's side at Old Trafford, their first win over the Red Devils at Old Trafford since 1988.
And Southampton defender Florin Gardos who came off the bench to replace Toby Alderweireld in the second half was delighted with the win as he spoke to the club's official YouTube Channel after the clash.
“It was really nice, especially because we won," said the Romania international.
"I will remember this win for a long time that’s for sure.
“Dušan’s goal was a great moment. When you fight for the game, fight to win and then get the goal in the latter minutes, especially at Old Trafford, it’s a wonderful, amazing feeling.
“It was really hard, especially in the first half. They attacked all the time and we had to defend. We did a really good job. They had some pretty big chances in the second half but the most important thing is we won.
“It’s maybe one of the biggest moments of my career. I just heard about the record. When we played against Arsenal away it was the same, so I’m very happy. I hope we’re going to finish in a good position and make another record this year.
“December was a tough period, we don’t have a big squad like the teams in front of us but there’s no reason why we can’t keep going and finish as high as possible."
