Midfielder Granit Xhaka is hoping Arsenal show more consistency and start “doing something” from now up until the end of the campaign.

The Gunners bounced back to winning ways in the English top-flight as they thrashed third-placed Leicester City 3-1 on Saturday, but Arteta’s boys still find themselves pinned in 10th spot.

However, Xhaka is hoping they can go on a winning run, admitting Arsenal have the quality to be higher up the Premier League table Xhaka issues rallying cry asking Arsenal teammates to produce top-quality performances regularly.

The Switzerland international said: “We have to do it game by game, not for three games, not for four, we have to constantly be like this, with this energy, this team spirit and after I am looking forward to us doing something.

"We know that they have very good midfielders, Leicester have a very good team as well. They try to play football but we won a lot of duels, a lot of 50-50 balls and the goals were beautiful and I am so happy for the team.”

After Arsenal's exhausting Europa League trip to Athens on Thursday, the Gunners returned to action on Sunday lunchtime for the kick-off at Leicester.

Arsenal were a goal down just after six minutes into the match at the King Power Stadium on Sunday lunchtime as Youri Tielemans's solo effort gave the hosts the lead, but the north London club responded in style through David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette, and Nicolas Pepe.

After the vcitory, Xhaka admitted they didn't start the clash against the Foxes in good form.

“I think we started very slowly. After my mistake when we conceded the goal, I think the team went a little bit up," Xhaka added.

"We knew it would be very difficult after the Europa League game, after the travelling and everything else, to be ready for 12 pm. It wasn't easy but I think in the end we deserved to win. We did a really, really good game after 10 minutes. A really important three points for us.”
