Zidane praises hat-trick hero Benzema.

Benzema lifted Los Blancos above Bilbao.

Zinedine Zidane says Karim Benzema is the best striker in the world after the Frenchman's hat-trick against Athletic Bilbao helped Real Madrid bounce back to winning ways.

Benzema continued his scoring habit as his 29th goal in all competitions this season made sure Los Blancos bounced back from a disappointing draw at Leganes last time out.

And Zidane paid tribute to the former Lyon man's quality after the triumph at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

"He's two goals shy of his best record here," said the Madrid boss as the club’s official website quoted. "Everyone has their tastes. For me, he is the best.

"It is impressive what he is doing at the level of goals and I am happy for him. He has a lot of confidence and always wants to improve."

Madrid travel to Getafe next time out on Thursday as they’ll be looking to build on their most recent victory.
