Chelsea and Crystal Palace played out a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in a match where both teams had their moments of dominance.
Chelsea, fresh off a convincing 6-2 victory over Wolves, were the more assertive side in the first half. The Blues created several chances, with Cole Palmer coming close and Dean Henderson making a superb save from Noni Madueke.
Chelsea eventually broke the deadlock through Nicolas Jackson, who finished a swift counter-attack by tapping in Palmer’s cross at the near post.
Crystal Palace, however, had a fortunate escape when Will Hughes, already on a booking, avoided a second yellow card for a foul on Palmer.
The Eagles soon equalised as Eberechi Eze curled a beautiful strike past Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, to level the score.
Chelsea’s Sanchez made a crucial save later on, pushing away a powerful drive from Daichi Kamada to keep the game level. In stoppage time, Nicolas Jackson had a golden opportunity to secure a win for Chelsea but saw his shot saved by the Eagles keeper Henderson.
The draw allowed Crystal Palace to earn their first points of the season after back-to-back losses, while Chelsea added another point to their tally, now standing at four points from three matches.
