Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone insists people in Spain should 'follow the path set by the experts' to prevent the coronavirus from spreading.

The Argentine, who led his Atleti side to a glorious Champions League last-16 triumph at Anfield on Wednesday night, insists the Spanish people should protect "all of those around us".

"I wanted to send you a message of awareness," Simeone said in a video message posted to Twitter.

"From my home, I invite you all to follow the path set by the experts, taking care of ourselves and all of those around us. Let's stay home."

The LaLiga games have been postponed for at least next two matchdays as experts look to fight the spread of COVID-19.
