Liverpool's Harvey Elliott expressed elation after his impactful performance secured a comeback 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Trailing from Jean-Philippe Mateta's opener, Mohamed Salah leveled with his historic 200th goal for Liverpool in the 76th minute.
The thrilling comeback was sealed by Elliott's decisive strike in the 91st minute.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Elliott shared his joy, emphasising the team's resilience at Selhurst Park: "It's always a great feeling to score, especially to win the game too. Selhurst Park is a hard place to come. We don't give up until the final whistle."
Reflecting on Salah's influence, he credited the Egyptian star for his learning, stating: "My finish today just sums up what I've learned off him. If I spoke about the influence he's had on me then everyone would get bored!"
Regarding Liverpool's title aspirations, Elliott expressed optimism, saying: "We're going in the right direction. There's a lot of the season left. We need to make sure we keep getting the three points and if we're contenders at the end of the season then let's go for it. The aim is to win the Premier League."
Mohamed Salah, highlighting the importance of the win, shared his happiness for achieving a personal record and securing the victory. Praising Elliott, Salah described him as a "good kid" with a promising career, emphasising their collective mentality to fight until the end.
Drawing parallels to the title-winning side, Salah noted the team's resilience and the potential for something special this year. He added: "I see the mentality to keep fighting until the end. We keep doing that. We have a new team now because there's six or seven players. We need to give them advice. They're learning a lot and they're really nice. We can do something special this year."
