1. João Palhinha Was Born in Lisbon
João Maria Lobo Alves Palhinha Gonçalves was born on 9 July 1995 in Lisbon, Portugal. Standing at around 1.90 metres (6ft 3in), his size has always been one of the more obvious physical characteristics of his game.
Palhinha developed as a defensive midfielder, a position that requires a mixture of positioning, anticipation, tackling and physical strength. He has built his career around those qualities.
2. Palhinha Started His Youth Career at Alta de Lisboa
Palhinha's football education began in Lisbon. He spent part of his youth career at Alta de Lisboa before moving to Sacavenense, where his performances eventually attracted the attention of Sporting CP.
