Fabio Cannavaro is convinced Real Madrid need 'a young star' like Kylian Mbappe so he 'can follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo.' Mbappe has been linked with a move away from PSG, with Los Blancos reportedly interested in signing the France international - who has won three Ligue 1 titles since moving to Parc des Princes from AS Monaco in 2017. However, former Juventus defender Cannavaro says it will be difficult for the Spanish giants to sign the 21-year-old as Paris Saint-Germain 'will fight tooth and nail to keep' one of their most valued assets. "Real Madrid need players like Mbappe, a young star who could follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo," the Guangzhou Evergrande coach Cannavaro, who won two LaLiga titles with Real Madrid, told AS.

More: PSG ace Neymar will be heading nowhere this summer. "It's normal that Madrid want to sign him but it also has to be taken into account that PSG's owners don't need the money. They are ambitious and they want to win the Champions League. "I think it will be difficult for Madrid to get him. The president of PSG is a person who wants to win, I know them well and they will fight tooth and nail to keep Mbappe." More: PSG forward Kylian Mbappe will flourish at Real Madrid.
