Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola heaped praise on his Cityzens after they came from behind to secure a win over Ipswich Town, adding that Erling Haaland is "so reliable."
The reigning champions beat Ipswich Town 4-1, with Haaland scoring a hat-trick. Ipswich took an early lead through Sammie Szmodics, but City quickly turned the game around. Haaland scored a penalty after a VAR decision.
Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne added another goal following a mistake by Ipswich's goalkeeper, Arijanet Muric. Haaland sealed the three points for the home side with two more goals, making it his seventh hat-trick in the English top flight.
Man City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to BBC Sport, said: "It was a good game. We started really well. With the transition, they made a good goal, but we played really, really well. I am really pleased to start the season that way."
On striker Haaland, who now has 67 goals in 68 Premier League appearances since joining City, the Spaniard said: "He is so reliable on penalties. Assist for the second, fantastic for the third. Last season he struggled a lot, especially at the beginning. '
"He felt tired and had niggles most of the time. This time, with the rest and no Euros, he has arrived with a good vibe. The numbers are unbelievable."
When asked whether Savinho has settled into the team quicker than expected, Guardiola said: "Yes. Not just the minutes, but he played really well. The second half dropped a little bit, but his contribution offensively and defensively was really good."
