Arteta insists Arsenal must sign new players in the next transfer window.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta says it’s absolutely vital he strengthens his side this summer.

The Gunners recently handed new deals to defenders Bukayo Saka and David Luiz and also confirmed permanent contracts for January arrivals Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari.

But, Arteta is hoping to see some new faces come through the doors at the Emirates Stadium this summer as they prepare to close the gap on the teams above them in the Premier League table.

"In January, the situation was that we had to fill some gaps and give some stability to the squad,” the Spaniard told Sky Sports.

“Now is the moment to make another step forward and improve the squad and the players that we have.”
