Mohammed Kudus Credits Spurs Fans for Inspiring His Sparkling Debut

Mohammed Kudus on How Spurs Fans Boost and Encourage Him

Mohammed Kudus could not hide his gratitude for the Tottenham Hotspur supporters after making a sparkling Premier League debut that instantly connected him with the home crowd.

The Ghanaian winger set the tone in a 3-0 win over Burnley, supplying two superb assists for Richarlison, and afterwards admitted the fans’ energy played a huge role in his performance.

“The reception from the fans has been incredible,” Kudus told Spurs' official platform, reflecting on his first competitive outing in North London. “I really get the boost and the encouragement, even though it’s part of my DNA to be in positions like this, but also with the help of the team, because they need to get the ball and get me higher up in those positions.”

It was the kind of debut that suggested Kudus has all the tools to thrive at Spurs. Driving down the wing, showing confidence to take players on, and then delivering precise crosses for his teammates, he revealed that the roar from the stands inspired him to keep going.

“The energy from the fans also gave me a boost, even though that’s what I love to do, take players on and then try to create and help the team win,” he added. “I’m glad that Richarlison was able to finish them off today with two beautiful goals.”

While the headlines belonged to his contributions on the ball, Kudus made it clear his mindset is one of long-term growth. He dismissed any suggestion of nerves, pointing instead to his hunger for constant improvement.

“I think the intrinsic motivation is already inside me to always deliver and do well. That’s what I feel before a game, you definitely feel something in your belly, I really want to perform and do my best.

“But with the help of the team, like I said, they really helped me settle in quite well, but I still have a lot to improve on and a lot more to show. It’s the beginning. It’s a long, long marathon to go.”

Spurs' 3-0 win over Burnley also capped weeks of effort during a hectic pre-season, with Kudus only now starting to properly feel settled at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“We’ve been all around the place for the pre-season, a lot of travel, so this has been the first couple of weeks that I’m really here,” he explained. “My first game in the stadium was massive, a massive feeling, and I’m really, really happy about that.”

Kudus also praised the work ethic inside the squad, highlighting the competitive edge in training and the collective ambition to push for silverware.

“The effort from everyone for the past weeks in pre-season, the travelling, putting in the effort day in, day out, big credit to the whole team. I’m really glad to be in an environment like this with a high level of work and competitiveness to challenge for every trophy.”
