Mason Mount expresses delight after Chelsea FC sign England winger Raheem Sterling from Premier League Champions Manchester City for £47.5m on a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.

Chelsea ace Mason Mount has lauded the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, saying the England international ‘will only bring our levels higher.’

The 27-year-old, who won four Premier League titles at the Etihad Stadium, signed a five-year deal with the west London club and will be linking up with the Blues in their pre-season tour in the U.S.A.

Mount: Levels going higher with Raheem Sterling.

Speaking after Chelsea announced the signing of the 27-year-old forward, midfielder Mount said: "A top, top guy. Such an experienced player, a top-class pro. "I’ve been lucky to play with him over the last couple of years with England where he’s captained the team at times. He’s someone who has been there for a very long time.

"He’s a top player and I’ve learnt a lot off him over the last couple of years so for him to be joining us, he’s only going to bring our levels higher. "He’s definitely someone who strives for high levels to win and that’s what we want. We want those players around this group, very excited for him to be here.

"We’ve lost a few that are leaders and he’s coming in and will be someone that will lead, a big presence in the group, a big personality. Hopefully, we can win some things together."

The Cityzens signed Sterling from Merseyside club Liverpool in 2015 for £49m, and he went on to have a trophy-laden spell at the Etihad, scoring 131 goals in 339 games, winning four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and five League Cups.
