Solskjaer admits defeat in Manchester United’s attempts to retain Gomes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed youngster Angel Gomes hasn’t signed a contract extension and could leave Manchester United soon.

Gomes’ contract at Old Trafford expires on Tuesday (June 30) and the United boss admits it's unlikely the 19-year-old will be staying with the club.

Gomes made his debut for United in 2017 and has twice appeared as a substitute in the Premier League this season.

"Got no news, nothing," Solskjaer said when asked if Gomes will be signing a new deal.

"So, it doesn't look like it (signing a new deal). To be honest, I've not heard from them last night or this morning, it seems like they haven't managed to agree so the answer is probably short and yes (he will be leaving), then."
