Antonio Conte sealed his first Premier League victory as Spurs boss on Sunday.
Antonio Conte was pleased to seal his first win in the Premier League as manager of Tottenham Hotspur as his Lilywhites came from behind to beat Leeds United on Sunday.
The Italian was delighted Spurs were able to clinch three points at home, acknowledging that they struggled in the first half.
Conte’s boys weren’t able to register a shot on or off target in the opening 45 minutes as the Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites dominated and got their reward via Daniel James, who tapped in Jack Harrison's cross moments before half-time.
There were some boos from the home fans when the players approached the tunnel but Tottenham turned up the heat at the start of the second half as Harry Kane and Heung-min Son hit the woodwork.
Spurs continued to mount pressure and eventually got their equaliser before the hour mark when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg fired in Lucas Moura’s pass.
They completed their comeback in the 69th minute when Eric Dier's free-kick deflected off the wall and onto the post, and full-back Sergio Reguilon tapped in the rebound to register his first Premier League goal for the north London club.
The win moved Spurs into the seventh spot, four points off fourth-placed West Ham.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Tottenham boss Antonio Conte said:
"The three points are very important for us. We won a difficult game against Leeds.
"The first half we struggled a lot with the tactical aspect and physically because they brought intensity in the first half to press us in every area of the pitch.
"In the second half, we changed tactically, and the plan
"We brought maybe a higher intensity than Leeds and created many chances to score two goals and we deserved to win.
"Leeds, in the first half, they played very well, with intensity, were aggressive, and won a lot of tackles. They were also faster on the ball. "In the second half we changed the plan tactically and I’m pleased because I had a good answer from players.
"From the first minute of the second half, the situation was changed, totally. The players were good and confident to play the ball."
The result means Conte has now won each of his last 17 home league games as a manager, with the previous 16 all coming with Serie A giants Inter Milan. The Italian also won his first home league match with each of his last five clubs (Siena, Juventus, Chelsea, Inter, Spurs).
