When Can We Expect Bryan Mbeumo to Make His Manchester United Debut?

Manchester United fans eager to catch a glimpse of new signing Bryan Mbeumo in red may need to practice a little patience. The former Brentford winger, known for his explosive pace and sharp finishing, has yet to feature in pre-season action, and head coach Rúben Amorim isn’t about to fast-track his debut.

Following United’s 2-1 win over West Ham United in New Jersey, Amorim spoke to MUTV and confirmed that Mbeumo was deliberately left out of the squad as he continues to work on his match fitness. Having joined the Reds later than the rest of the group, the Cameroon international is still playing catch-up physically.

“Bryan is starting slowly,” Amorim explained. “He is not going to play in the next one.”

That “next one” is the Premier League Summer Series clash with Bournemouth at Soldier Field in Chicago, a game that comes just too soon for Mbeumo. But fans won't have to wait too long, as the manager offered a more hopeful timeline for his first outing.

“We hope to have Bryan in the last game [in the United States]. He’s training now, so we’ll see,” the Portuguese concluded.

That final U.S. fixture is against Everton in Atlanta next weekend, and it’s now pencilled in as a potential stage for Mbeumo’s long-awaited debut. Though the forward is said to be training, Amorim is taking no risks, especially with the Premier League opener against Arsenal looming.
