Chelsea Progress to the Europa Conference League Group Stage

Chelsea have progressed to the Europa Conference League group stage after a 3-2 aggregate victory over Servette, despite losing 2-1 in the second leg in Switzerland.

Christopher Nkunku scored from the penalty spot early on, following a foul on Mykhailo Mudryk, extending Chelsea's aggregate lead.

However, Servette responded with a goal from Jeremy Guillemenot and then took the lead on the night through Enzo Crivelli's header.

Chelsea faced intense pressure towards the end, with Nicolas Jackson having a goal ruled out for offside and Cole Palmer hitting the crossbar. In the final moments, Servette nearly forced extra time, but Timothe Cognat's shot went wide.

Despite the scare, Chelsea held on to advance. This progression into the group stage is significant for new manager Enzo Maresca, as it ensures more competitive fixtures to utilize his large squad and give fringe players valuable game time.

The draw for the league phase will take place on Friday at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, where Chelsea will learn their opponents in Europe’s third-tier competition.
